Tuvalu votes to maintain monarchy

Radio Australia reports the tiny Pacific state of Tuvalu - one of Her Majesty's few remaining Commonwealth realms - has voted in favour of keeping the monarchy. 1,260 (65%) people voted in favour of the monarchy, while 679 (35%) voted for a republic. Voter turn out was very low, with around 2,000 (22%) of the 9,000 eligible turning out to vote.
